I can’t remember the last time I posted a classic crime quiz, so I thought it was about time I did another one! As the blog post title suggests the theme is Sherlock Holmes, in particular the artwork used to accompany the short stories. Below are 17 images from the short stories, most of them I believe are ones drawn by Sidney Paget, but there are some exceptions. All you need to do is decide which story each illustration comes from. I have tried to avoid the more generic images in which Holmes is endlessly standing around chatting to Watson and another male character, surrounded by pieces of furniture. Instead, I aimed to use images which contained some clues as to the story they are depicting, be it clothes, objects or animals.
I will post the answers later this month.
